We are working with an Ofsted Good School who are looking for an experienced, innovative and charismatic Head of Business/IT looking to join a happy and motivated team of teaching specialists.

We have strong and established links with local industry and international companies to enthuse our students about the global business environment. Can you inspire your staff and lead them to bring industry and business to life within the classroom?

Business Studies and Computing courses are offered at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. The academy offers a broad range of Business and Computing courses and has a particularly strong and popular Sixth Form Business Studies programme. The number of Sixth Form students taking the subject has grown year on year. Our new Sixth Form centre offers state of the art facilities. It is used extensively by students studying Business Studies and Computer Science in Key Stage 5. We have an established Young Enterprise Club as well as the Business and Computing lunchtime

The role would suit best an experienced practitioner who can offer to teach Business; however, for the right candidate, we will consider anyone who could offer to teach any of the following subjects: Business, IT and Computer Science - including any combination of them.

Business/IT is a successful department, constantly striving to meet the needs of our students, and has a commitment to continuous school improvement. We believe that our Heads of Department have a pivotal role in inspiring and challenging pupils of every ability in every year to raise their academic standards, in promoting their confidence and self-esteem, and in securing year on year improving GCSE and post-16 results.

From September 2024, the School will be implementing a 9-day working fortnight for all staff. The premise is simple, you will work nine days but be paid for ten, using the tenth day to 'reset', and thus giving you the opportunity to manage your work-life balance more effectively. You will also enjoy a Wellness Day to relax and unwind every year in addition to school holidays.

In addition, they offer significant investment in your professional development and the possibility of onsite accommodation if you need to relocate. You can also expect facilities that are second to none, including an excellent canteen, gym and coffee shop, but above all, you will relish the satisfaction of transforming futures and helping our students overcome obstacles to experience life to the full
