January 2020 start
'Good' Primary School in Burnley (BB10)
2 form entry primary school
Fixed Term Contract - NQT's encouraged to apply!
A fantastic opportunity has arisen in a 'Good' Primary School based in the heart of Burnley (BB10) for an EYFS Specialist Teacher. Teaching Personnel are working closely with the Headteacher who is hoping to shortlist and appoint at the start of December. The post is until July initially, covering a permanent gap in staffing due to a planned resignation. The role may be advertised via LCC, with the head teacher stating, 'the successfully candidate will have 6 months to make the position their own'. The role does have a very good chance to become permanent.
The school (BB10) has a very mixed catchment with children attending from Burnley and parts of Nelson. The school is a good performing school within the area in terms of attainment in KS2 despite the pupils joining the school are below expected levels. Good progress is made by the pupils throughout EYFS, KS1 and KS2. Behaviour across the school can be challenging but is no different to any other primary schools. The Headteacher leads the school well and the SLT and teaching staff have high standards across the board. The school was graded 'Good' in the recent full school Ofsted inspection in 2019.
The incoming candidate will be joining a successful team of 9 in the unit. You must be a well organised, efficient and reflective practitioner with high expectations of child development, learning and behaviour. You must also be able to plan and deliver a creative curriculum, create a purposeful and stimulating learning environment and form good relationships with children, parents/carers and staff.
