HGV Maintenance Fitter

Location: West Thurrock

Salary: £23.37 per hour Plus overtime rates

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Shift Pattern: 42 hours per week (shift pattern between 06:00 - 19:00)

Pin Point Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Maintenance Fitter to join a busy and well-established vehicle workshop within the chemical industry.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected company operating a modern fleet of HGV vehicles and trailers.

You will play a key role in ensuring the fleet remains compliant, roadworthy, and safe for delivering products to loyal customers.

Key Responsibilities:

* Service, maintain and inspect HGV vehicles and trailers to VOSA standards

* Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults

* Carry out routine servicing and repairs including brakes, gearboxes, and clutches

* Respond to vehicle breakdowns when required

* Identify and order parts as necessary

* Complete and maintain accurate documentation using the company's vehicle maintenance system

* Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standard

* Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment

* Adhere to all health and safety requirements, including wearing appropriate PPE

Requirements:

* Proven experience in heavy vehicle maintenance, repair and diagnostics

* Previous experience working within a busy HGV workshop

* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

* ADR knowledge and experience (essential)

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Strong understanding of compliance and safety standards

Working Hours & Benefits:

* 42 hours per week on a rotating week-about shift pattern (between 06:00 - 19:00)

* £23.37 per hour

* Overtime Monday to Saturday paid at time and a half

* Overtime Sunday paid at double time

* 25 days holiday per annum
