Certified Tumor Registrar

Job Description

 The Certified Tumor Registrar is responsible for performing all functions associated with the maintenance of the Harris Health System Cancer Registry; case finding, abstracting, follow-up, participating with registry quality assurance functions, and tumor boards.

  • High School graduate
  • Cancer Registry Certification
  • Two (2) years experience as a Certified Tumor Registrar, preferably with an ACOS approved program.



Current National Cancer Registrars Association Certification.

Knowledge of:

  • anatomy and physiology
  • medical terminology
  • International Classification of Diseases for Oncology (ICD-O)
  • AJCC Cancer Staging and TNM coding.
  • Knowledge of the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer - Cancer Program Standards.  
  • Proficiency with cancer registry software, prefer Elekta/Metriq.

    Will be able to work from home after 90 day probationary period.
