Shift Pattern: Nights

We are recruiting for a Night Nurse to join a well-established, purpose-built care home in the Henley-on-Thames area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working in a calm, structured environment and wants to be part of a supportive team delivering high-quality care overnight. The home provides nursing, residential, dementia and short-stay respite care and is led by an experienced management team in a welcoming setting.

The role is based within a home of 35+ rooms set across 2 floors, caring mainly for residents living with mild dementia. Residents are generally free-flowing and mobile, so this would suit a nurse who is confident supporting independence while maintaining strong clinical oversight during the night shift.

You will play a key role in ensuring residents are safe, comfortable and well supported overnight, while also working closely with the wider care team to maintain excellent standards across the service.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care throughout the night
  • Monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond appropriately to clinical needs
  • Administer medication safely and accurately
  • Support residents living with dementia in a calm, respectful and person-centred way
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and handovers
  • Work closely with care staff to ensure a safe and well-run night service
  • Promote dignity, comfort and reassurance for residents at all times

Requirements:

  • Active NMC registration
  • Previous nursing experience within a care home or elderly care setting preferred
  • Confident working nights with good clinical judgement
  • Experience supporting residents living with dementia is beneficial
  • Strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills
  • Calm, reliable and compassionate approach

What’s on offer:

  • £22.90 per hour
  • 36-hour contract
  • Opportunity to join a well-established care home environment
  • Supportive leadership team
  • Initial Teams call with the Home Manager as the first stage interview

The home is publicly described as a 35+bed purpose-built property in four acres of Oxfordshire grounds, with en-suite rooms, Wi-Fi, landscaped gardens, a sensory therapy room and an activities-led approach designed to support residents’ quality of life.

Safer recruitment checks will apply, including references and relevant DBS clearance.
