Are you a skilled Manufacturing Team Leader who make a positive difference to productivity and quality, ensuring volumes are achieved by working alongside your team, proactively promoting best practice? With a “can do” attitude and a hands-on approach, your role as Manufacturing Team Leader is to work alongside and support, guide and develop your team in a dedicated stores/warehouse electro-mechanical engineering environment on the day shift to achieve their best results.

You will ensure continuous and balanced work flow, flexing resources and achieving maximum efficiency by supplying solutions to everyday manufacturing and people issues. This exciting opportunity comes at a time of business expansion, so you will use your hands-on practical skills and further develop your modern management techniques.

Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Team Leader:-

Leadership and Interpersonal 20%:

* Leading your allocated team to achieve manufacturing targets by driving cross training and skill development to improve quality, productivity and flexibility

* Use excellent communication skills to optimise the links between the Operators and Team leaders

* Participate in recruitment and performance processes providing constructive and developmental feedback, train and mentor your allocated team

Production and Continuous Improvement 80%:

* Hands-on, you'll ensure daily production meeting objectives and resource reviews are clearly delivered to your team and the plan implemented

* Highlight and correct production flow issues, support problem solving, identify improvements and efficiency

* Attention to high levels of detail, recording and communicating accurate technical measurements and readings

* Seek out and lead process improvement activities in work methods to increase efficiency, implement corrective actions

* Promote and monitor LEAN manufacturing and 5S activities, ensure all tools and jigs correctly used

Manufacturing Team Leader Knowledge and Experience required:

* Previous supervisory / team leader experience in a stores, warehouse, logistics environment

* Strong communication skills with a flexible, very well organised management style, bring new ideas, positive and proactive problem solving approach

* Practical hands-on experience supporting a busy electro-mechanical manufacturing assembly business

* Able to interpret SOP's and mechanical / engineering and assembly drawings in a fast paced, high-tech production environment

* IT literate with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook plus strong awareness of H&S, PPE requirements, best and safe working practices in lean manufacturing

Hours of Work: Monday-Thursday 7:30 am-4:30 pm and Friday 7:30 am-12:30 pm
