Position Summary: IT Infrastructure Engineer, managing and supporting Windows Servers, Office 365, Business Software and Systems, Security and Systems Administration. New IT project work at new head office location in Watford. Helping a growing business bring IT inhouse, using the right 3rd parties and building a small IT support team, leading to a leadership role!
Our Client is one of the UK's fastest growing industrial recruiting companies. They partner with big players in retail fulfillment, supply chain and warehouse and are operating out of 10 sites in the UK. As part of their rapid growth they are keen to ensure they invest in the right technology, IT systems, infrastructure and connectivity, as such they require an IT Infrastructure Engineer who has the capability to manage all BAU support via 3rd parties, but is also able to transition technology in house and into the cloud (Office 365 / Azure), alongside supporting infrastructure, running projects and advising on IT strategy where appropriate.
At present IT is outsourced to multiple 3rd parties that cover desktop / server infrastructure, telephony, business and financial services, time and attendance, payroll etc. With a move to a new headquarters planned in the coming weeks, the timing is perfect to hire their first in house IT Manager.
You will be responsible for the following:
Day to day Infrastructure Support 1st - 3rd line - currently with a small MSP
Business Systems Management and Governance
IT Project Work
IT Procurement and Implementation
Advising on new systems and strategy
System integration projects
Setting up onsite IT on new customer sites
With a range of physical hardware, discussions are taking place about moving the business into the cloud, taking the organisations to Office 365 / Azure. There are also opportunities to provide other IT enhancements and improvements, which will be anticipated as they expect a significant post Covid bounce back in 2021.
Our ideal candidate will be an experienced IT Engineer who has moved into a more strategic role over the last few years or is ready to move into management. Still hands on, yet able to lead on projects, we're looking for a good allrounder, able to add value through direct hands on IT support and Implementation but also someone capable of selecting and working with the right IT partners. It will be essential that you can operate effectively in a fast paced environment, that is changing constantly to meet customer demands.
Experience of working in another Industrial Recruitment environment would be an advantage but we can consider an IT Manager / Engineer from any fast moving, multisite environment. We're keen to find someone to start in December or January. Please apply today and we'll come back to you with feedback quickly.
