Key Responsibilities

  • Bespoke Lesson Design: Plan, prepare, and deliver highly stimulating, precisely differentiated lessons that effectively address the specific targets documented within each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Performance Analysis: Conduct both formal testing and informal observation, meticulously analyse pupil progress data, and proactively adjust teaching methodologies to secure optimal educational outcomes.
  • Curriculum Access: Source, create, and adapt all educational resources and in-class activities to ensure full and meaningful curriculum accessibility for every learner.
  • Integrated Teamwork: Collaborate closely with Teaching Assistants, outside agencies, and parents/guardians to maintain a cohesive, comprehensive, and multi-disciplinary support network.
  • Classroom Environment: Foster a structured, positive, and genuinely inclusive classroom atmosphere that champions excellent behaviour standards and recognises every student's effort and achievement.

Candidate Requirements

  • Mandatory Qualification: Possession of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is non-negotiable.
  • Practical Experience: Extensive, verifiable experience teaching students with various Special Educational Needs within a UK school setting.
  • Expert Knowledge Base: Profound familiarity with SEN codes of practice, a range of effective intervention strategies, and sophisticated differentiation techniques.
  • Essential Traits: Must be highly adaptable, resilient, proactive, and patient, with proven, exceptional classroom management capabilities.
  • Compliance Check: Must hold a satisfactory, current Enhanced DBS check, or be willing to apply for one without delay upon confirmation of the role.
  • Significant Bonus: A relevant SEN qualification (e.g., NASENCO) or extensive experience supporting pupils with complex or profound learning needs is a major advantage.
