We are seeking a talented and experienced Year 1 Teacher to join our vibrant and inclusive primary school in Birmingham from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent position for a confident practitioner who understands the importance of a smooth transition from EYFS to Key Stage 1, and who can provide a calm, structured and engaging learning environment.

About the Role

You will take full responsibility for a Year 1 class, delivering the KS1 curriculum in a way that supports progress, independence and emotional development. The role requires a teacher with excellent knowledge of early phonics, early maths and the Year 1 assessment framework. This is a key phase in children's development, and we are looking for someone who can build on the strong foundations of EYFS and ensure all pupils thrive.

We Are Looking For

A qualified teacher (QTS) with at least one full year of KS1 classroom experience

Deep understanding of the Year 1 curriculum, phonics (e.g. Little Wandle, Read Write Inc.), and age-related expectations

Strong classroom management and an inclusive teaching approach

*

Someone who is well-organised, reflective and committed to delivering high-quality teaching

*

A team player who values collaboration and professional dialogue

*

A teacher who can maintain high expectations while nurturing young learners' confidence and independence
