We are seeking an External Affairs Programme Manager to join their busy and influential External Affairs team to oversee their global policy and public affairs events programme.

As an integral member of the team, you will assume a managing role in orchestrating their annual programme of events (a minimum of two a month) encompassing round tables, committees, and APPGs.

Your responsibilities will span from research and design to the meticulous execution and presentation of the team's convening, evidence gathering, and public-facing events. The ultimate objective is to foster insightful discussions, cultivate influential connections, and deliver valuable outcomes for key decision-makers within the industry who partake in these engagements. Your actions and support will be a cornerstone in elevating the impact of these strategic gatherings.

To be successful in this role you will need:

Demonstrable experience in owning project or program delivery within a political setting
The ability to make your own decisions quickly and be self-sufficient
A strong aptitude in engaging with and building relationships with important cross-industry stakeholders such as parliamentarians, sector leaders, business groups and think tanks.
A political nous and strong interest in current affairs, knowing the nuances of the political landscape either from an external affairs or policy role, or a relevant events position
In addition:

Strong project management and research skills
Excellent oral and written communication
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint
Comfortable with Salesforce or CRM
Networking skills
Event project management experience and budget management is desirable but not essential.
A pioneering and agile mentality, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently.

The Institution of Civil Engineers operates a primarily home-based working environment, meeting as a team when required a minimum twice a month at their office at One George Street.

However, where events are in-person they will require your attendance. As such, ability and availability to travel into London when required and occasionally outside of contract hours is essential.

This is a full-time, permanent position and applicants must be eligible to work permanently in UK. Unfortunately, sponsorship cannot be offered.

Application Deadline is midnight, 28th November.
