Our client is seeking a Principal Transport Planner to join their Fareham office. With over 15 years in business and offices strategically located in the South, Central and Eastern regions, they provide transport, travel planning and civil engineering expertise to a diverse client base including housebuilders, land promoters, commercial developers and local authorities.

Competitive salary - dependent on experience.

Write, check and approve technical reports such as Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and Technical Notes.
Prepare and approve technical drawings where appropriate, with strong knowledge of trip generation/distribution methodologies.
Produce and review appeal documentation including Statement of Case, Statement of Common Ground and Proof of Evidence.
Attend public inquiries and appeal hearings as an expert witness.
Project manage schemes, overseeing budgets, timescales and resourcing.
Lead on client liaison, business development and work-winning.
Mentor, train and line manage staff, supporting career development and carrying out appraisals.
Set and contribute to team strategies, KPIs and company goals.
Prepare, check and issue tenders and fee proposals.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, attending networking events and representing the company externally.
Contribute to marketing activity, client satisfaction and promotional initiatives.Requirements

Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
Chartered membership of a relevant professional organisation.
Minimum 7 years' experience in transport planning.
Demonstrable leadership in both practical and theoretical aspects of transport planning.
Experience managing and training staff.
Strong technical expertise across transport policy, design and modelling.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritise, delegate and manage workload effectively.
Experience acting as expert witness at appeals and inquiries.
