Salary: £35000 - £38000/annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join a high-performing manufacturing team. This permanent position is ideally suited to someone who thrives on the shop floor, enjoys solving problems, has a great attention to detail and is passionate about maintaining quality from the ground up.

You'll spend approximately 70% of your time on the shop floor, carrying out inspections, using measuring equipment and supporting production teams, playing a key role in supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and driving continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing:

Conducting hands-on inspections using verniers, gauges, and other measuring tools

*

Leading root cause analysis using 5 Whys, 8D, and corrective action tracking

*

Monitoring quality data and reporting trends to stakeholders

*

Supporting NPI to ensure prototypes are quality tested and documented before going out to suppliers

*

Creating and maintaining SOPs, quality alerts, and audit documentation

*

Investigating rejects, scrap, and returns to reduce waste and improve standards

*

Ensuring process compliance through internal audits

*

Supporting customer audits and maintaining certification requirements

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

*

Quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

*

Attention to detail and confidence in high-precision inspection work

*

Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence across departments

*

Proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving

*

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality reporting systems

Desirable:

*

Foundry process knowledge, especially in ductile iron

*

Familiarity with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 standards

*

Experience supporting NPI or continuous improvement initiatives

*

Working knowledge of Lean tools and RCA techniques
