Our Client, a Greater Manchester council, is seeking a Children's Team Manager to join their Front Door Team.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Receive and screen referrals from professionals and the public
  • Assess risk and determine appropriate intervention levels
  • Undertake Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries
  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners (e.g., police, health, education)
  • Attend and contribute to strategy discussions and MARAC meetings
  • Provide consultation and safeguarding advice to professionals
  • Maintain accurate case records and prepare reports
  • Escalate concerns and initiate child protection procedures
  • Work within a duty rota to ensure consistent service delivery
  • Apply strengths-based and relational approaches in practice

Requirements of this role:

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Must have minimum of 3 years post qualifying social work experience

  • Monitor workloads, allocate cases effectively, and maintain clear systems to ensure compliance with statutory guidance and local procedures.
  • Use data and performance insights to drive continuous improvement, identifying areas for development and embedding best practice within the service.
  • Promote a culture of reflective practice, professional curiosity, and child-centred decision-making across the team.
