Description Mission Essential is seeking Internal Look - Lessons Learned Specialists (IL-LLS) to support unique USSOCOM component command requirements. Internal Look - Lessons Learned Specialists (IL-LLS), perform lessons learned collecting, archiving, analyzing observations, insights, and lessons in order to resolve and disseminate the required information to the appropriate organizations, units, or personnel in the form of reports, summaries, or briefings and perform all related activities required to Collect, Archive, Analyze, Resolve, and Disseminate (CAARD) information resulting from operations, exercises, and training events. Duty positions require personnel that understand the highly complex Special Operations and Department of Defense cultures, to include policies and processes. Minimum Requirements Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
· Performs all Component - Lessons Learned Specialist tasks at the FWD Deployed level.
· Coordinates with TSOC to synchronize LL activities in support of TSOC areas of operation.
· Oversee FWD Deployed LL processes employing knowledge of SOF operations in current and historical staff roles, areas of responsibility and subordinate organizations.
· Incorporates FWD Command senior-level guidance into the LL planning and execution of SOF engagement, and exercises, to resolve issues based on newly collected observations, insights and lessons learned.
· Manages FWD Deployed LL analytical studies involving programs or policies cutting across the military Services, government agencies, and SOF Partners leading to major adjustments to SOF doctrine, policy, training, equipping, and organizing.
· Regularly meets with FWD military leadership to provide recommendations on focus area studies, command synchronization efforts and quarterly feedback
· Conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis to develop standards for new or existing requirements to alter current combat operations, training or operational missions and programs.
· Manages all CONUS/OCONUS administrative requirements to support travel, clearances, country bulletins, reports, etc.
· Supports the development of Combat Mission Needs Statement (CMNS) to include fielding and implementation.
· Develop and maintain an electronic resource, to include key points of contact, to be used for mission continuity that may be accessed by all stakeholders.
· OCONUS work week for Forward Deployed Lessons Learned Specialist shall be either 10 hours/day 7-day work week or 12 hour/day 6-day work week, and shall be dependent upon mission requirements at the deployed location.
· Position may require travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
· Active Top Secret security clearance. Desired Requirements Required Qualifications
· Position requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance and valid U.S. Passport.
· Prior service E8 or O5 and 3 years of experience at USSOCOM as a staff officer/NCO supporting the DOTMLPF&P, SOFCIDS process
· Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or Survey Methodology
· 3 years’ staff experience supporting a Geographic Combatant Command or Theater Special Operations Command
· Lean Six Sigma Certified Desired Qualifications
· 12 months or more experience working as a Lessons Learned Subject Matter Expert at a Brigade, Brigade-equivalent (Group) or higher level command
