Starting Point Recruitment is seeking an experienced Sprinkler Design Engineer on behalf of our client based in the West Midlands area.Salary: Attractive salary, dependent on experienceJob purpose - The purpose of a sprinkler design engineer entails the precise designs of fire protection systems spanning diverse sectors, encompassing commercial and residential domains, as well as hospitality, retail, and industrial environments.Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with clients, architects, and project teams to gather design requirements.
  • Conducting site surveys and inspections to assess the existing conditions and determine design feasibility.
  • Designing fire sprinkler systems in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Creating detailed system drawings, 3D modelling and material specifications.
  • Coordinating with installation teams to ensure proper implementation of designs.
  • Conducting performance tests and inspections to validate system functionality.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to project managers and field personnel.

Specific requirements and Qualifications

  • Experienced within the field.
  • 3D experience is preferable.
  • Minimum of a degree or HND in a suitable discipline.
  • Minimum of LPCB Basic design qualification.
  • LPCB Intermediate and FHC design qualifications would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of LPC sprinkler rules is essential. Knowledge of FM & NFPA standards would be an advantage.
  • Relevant technical design experience and the preparation of technical documentation and drawings.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in the design of fire sprinkler systems. Experience of water mist, hydrants & dry/wet riser systems would be an advantage.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and Canute FHC design software. Experience of HydraCAD, Autosprink or another relevant design software would be an advantage.
