We're now recruiting for a Shift Manager to join us at New Providence Wharf!

What you should know

Ballymore is a family owned business, with over 40 years in establishment - we are remarked as an innovative and dynamic property developer citing over 80 awards. At present, we're managing 11,000 homes across 12 luxury residential developments in London and are in search of a Shift Manager to join us at New Providence Wharf in contributing to our vision.

Important to note

Hours: 7:00 - 19:00 + 19:00 - 7:00 / Days & Nights

Shift Pattern: 4 on - 4 off

Location: E14 , Canary Wharf

Contract: 42 hpw/permanent

What you'll do

As the Shift Manager, you will:

Lead:

*

*

Lead, manage, motivate, inspire, and develop the team to confidently deliver a dynamic residential lifestyle experience across the development.

*

Actively manage the shift, dealing with all queries and complaints, monitoring and dealing with staff performance, directing and leading the in-house and contracted team working on the development during the shift

*

Build trusted working relationships with colleagues and contracted service partners.

Management Responsibilities:

*

Provide oversight for daily operations, including security patrols and reporting, front of house services, safety or building critical works and emergency response.

*

Provide leadership, coaching, and support to your teams, encouraging personal ownership and responsibility.

*

Monitor operational performance against policies and procedures and recommend improvements or amendments where required.

*

Ensure all Mytag tags are operational across the development carrying out weekly audit of the daily occurrence log.

*

Conduct team appraisals, reviews, and performance meetings, ensuring appropriate accreditation and training is up to date.

*

Security Function:

*

Oversee management of all aspects of estate security and CCTV on your shift, ensuring clear communication with the security team and other site staff.

*

Oversee externally provided security services partners i.e. temporary staffing ensuring operatives are inducted and have a clear understanding of responsibilities ahead of commencing a shift.

*

Ensure the security team conducts estate patrols, provide daily patrol reports via MyTag, and adheres to service standards.

*

Lead monthly fire drills and weekly fire tests, and ensure incident reporting is completed as required and logged on Meridian compliance system.

Operations and Health & Safety:

*

Collaborate with Facilities Management to ensure compliance with Fire and Health & Safety policies, reviewing procedures regularly.

*

Ensure systems and procedures for asset management are monitored and compliant with statutory requirements.

*

Play a key role in disaster recovery, emergency response, and contingency planning.

*

Ensure compliance with UK laws and obligations relevant to the sector, including the Landlord & Tenant Act 1985, health and safety, and employment legislation.

People Management:

*

*

Manage people-related issues using People HR system and ensure teams operate within staff handbook guidelines.

*

Ensure adequate staffing levels for each shift, including managing the staff rota, managing absences and arranging suitable cover.

*

Support the Security & Operations Manager including staff payroll, training, uniforms, and other operational requests, which may change due to operation requirements.

Work with HR on personnel issues such as grievances and disciplinaries.

What you'll need to be successful

*

Minimum 4 years management and/or security experience

*

Have a good understanding of GDPR regulations

*

Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure

*

Previous experience managing a team and preferably experience working on a large mixed-use development

*

Strong leadership experience in a management environment, with a proven track record of working collaboratively and diplomatically

*

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

*

Knowledge and experience in the property and security sector, including regulations and requirements

*

Good knowledge of Health & Safety Management in mixed-use developments.
