Accounts Payable AssistantJob Type: Full-time (37.5 hours)- hybrid working pattern after initial training, 3 days in the office. Location: Redhill, Surrey Salary: £28,000We are seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our finance team. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and completeness of supplier statements, liaising with various teams for financial accuracy, and managing invoice processing in accordance with company policy. The ideal candidate will have experience in finance or accounts payable, preferably within the FMCG sector, and demonstrate proficiency in key software applications.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Reconcile supplier statements before Purchase Ledger close each month, with a focus on group supplier ledgers.
  • Collaborate with the General Ledger Team to ensure completeness and accuracy before Accounts Payable close.
  • Review outstanding Purchase Orders and slow-moving invoices, resolving any issues promptly.
  • Manage daily invoice registration and scanning, processing invoices following company authorisation workflows.
  • Handle expense claim reviews, ensuring completeness and correct authorisation, and upload payments for authorisation.
  • Schedule weekly bank payments and prepare supplier payment runs.
  • Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations and maintain accurate records in the EFACS system.
  • Liaise with all departments and subsidiaries to resolve queries efficiently and report any unresolved issues within expected timeframes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in Finance/Accounts Payable, preferably within the FMCG sector.
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate data against key indicators and set targets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet financial targets and interact effectively with people at different levels.
