About the School: Reed education are supporting a fantastic double form entry primary school located in Cambridge, known for their inclusive and supportive environment. The school are seeking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team from September.

Role Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs on a 1:1 basis. This role involves working closely with the SENCO and class teacher to create and implement individualized plans to help the pupil reach their full educational potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil with SEMH needs.
  • Assisting the pupil with classwork set by the teacher.
  • Managing the pupil's behaviour inside and outside the classroom.
  • Collaborating with the SENCO and class teacher to develop and implement support plans.
  • Monitoring and recording the pupil's progress and providing feedback.

Requirements:

  • A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of working with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • A UK address and the right to work in the UK.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the pupil's well-being and development.
