This client are currently recruiting a Head of Electrical Engineering for a Cement Plant in one of their key regions. In the role of Head of Electrical you will be responsible for medium to long term objectives of the Electrical maintenance department

Being based at the Cement Plant in Dunbar your role as Head of Electrical is pivotal to the success of this business and therefore the client is keen to bring in an experienced candidate for the role.

Description

The key responsibilities for this role include:

Acting as a champion for engineering improvements and promoting best practise for the plant
Managing and motivating their team ensuring coordination and cooperation between departments
Ensuring completion of electrical/ HV and process control systems maintenance jobs with the highest level of safety, quality and effectiveness at minimum cost to maximise equipment availability
Applying preventative and predictive maintenance practices and contribute to plant improvements
Highlight plant maintenance risks to senior management and assist in formulating repair plans
Ensuring sustainable performance which is aligned to plant objectives, values and behaviours
Definition of the medium and long term strategy for plant maintenance
Preparing and managing obsolescence and replacement plans
Monitor execution of electrical tasks through spot checks and follow up with feedback
Identify training/skills gaps in electrical team and build plans for development for the team including 1-2-1's and PDP'sProfile

To be successful for this role it is essential you have the right qualifications and certificates and these include:

HND/Degree
IET prof. reg
BS7671 current regs (18th Edition)
NVQ level 3 or equivalent
C&G 2391 - inspection and testing - be able to understand test results
Working knowledge of IEC 61508/61511
Working knowledge of drives and PLC
Working Knowledge of MCerts, gaseous and particulate emmissions and requirements for the EA
Complex EX14 or working knowledge and prove Atex Responsible person requirements
General instrumentation
Man management and safety
CMMS/SAP stuff inc RCA etc
Budget management and control
