The Business:
An innovative market leader in the design and development of highly engineered and customized systems within the 3D printing industry. The company are at the forefront of the design and development of extrusion systems, with a strong product portfolio that includes: hotends, extruders, nozzles, electronics boards and advanced 3D printing materials.
Relied upon by some of the biggest names in the industry and with an international client base across the globe - this is a truly modern business embarking on a substantial period of growth.The company now requires an experienced Managing Director keen to take a successful company forward, who is capable of developing and leading the business in line with market demands.

Job Outline:

Lead, manage and deliver the company's well-researched and fully funded growth objectives.
The candidate will be taking over from the dynamic and successful founders that have built the business from nothing to where it is today and will be responsible for taking the company to the next level.

Directorship for the Operation:

⦁ Report to the board
⦁ Compliance with corporate governance and associated legal duties
⦁ P&L management, forecasting & reporting. Actively engaged in improving profitability and achieving scale rather than just growth.
⦁ Continue developing EOS best-practice, including improvements to processes and assignment of KPIs throughout the organisation.
⦁ Ownership of accountability chart

Delivery (and development) of company roadmap and strategic vision:

⦁ Ensure company-wide buy-in
⦁ Ensure that operations, engineering, and sales departments remain on track and receive relevant investment and support to deliver on company objectives
⦁ Collaboration with founders to understand, buy into, challenge, and develop the vision. Now and in the future. Fill gaps in the Founders' experience and expertise; and that of the LT.

Leadership & Management:

⦁ Lead, Manage, and hold the LT (“Leadership Team”) Accountable
⦁ Setting a positive example of good leadership for the LT and wider company ensuring a happy and motivated workforce.
⦁ Running quarterly offsite LT planning sessions
⦁ Setting clear goals and KPIs for LT. Encourage autonomy.
⦁ Encourage company-wide succession planning.

Foster an innovative environment:

⦁ Work very closely with founders and the LT to engender a dynamic and creative R&D environment that will help push our strategic plans far out into the future
Required Skills and Qualifications:

⦁ 5 years' experience in an MD or similar position having handled most of the above roles.
⦁ Proven track record of managing and delivering company growth. Ideally in this specific turnover range (£10 -> 40m) - taking company beyond SME whilst maintaining integrity.
⦁ Academic background (ideally Engineering with an MBA, or similar)
⦁ Proven commercial, strategic, and product innovation expertise
⦁ Experienced collaborator with innovative, ideas-driven founders. Ideally with a background in an R&D-based product development setting
⦁ Positive people skills with strong leadership capabilities and the gravitas to inspire and motivate
