As an Acquisitions Manager with Asda, you will be integral to our significant growth plans and be at the forefront of our ambition to grow existing formats and spearhead our plans to develop a convenience chain, a new format for the business.

Your Role

A self-starter, your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Pro-actively source new acquisition opportunities across multiple formats, work up acquisition leads and review new introductions
  • Conduct site inspections/ appraisals prior to Exchange of contracts and undertake due diligence on prospective opportunities
  • Liaise and negotiate terms as applicable with vendors, consultants, developers, local authorities and agents
  • Prepare board papers and present to the Asda board for approval​
  • Instruct legal professionals to procure agreed acquisitions and monitor the process through to completion
  • Work closely with the in-house Town Planning team to secure appropriate planning and regulatory consents are in place​
  • Work closely with, instruct and manage external consultants as necessary to ensure delivery ​
  • Support the organisation and co-ordination of the marketing of Asda''s property requirements​

About You

  • Proven experience in identifying, negotiating and managing property acquisition and development projects.
  • Strong management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, delivering in excess of 20 schemes per annum through internal approval processes
  • Location planning, mapping and analysis experience is not essential but will be useful.
  • Good knowledge of the planning system preferred
