About the Role

As Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for driving excellence in the delivery of Photography and Art across all key stages. You will lead curriculum development, support colleagues in their professional growth, and ensure high standards of teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Photography and Art department, fostering a culture of creativity and high achievement.
  • Design and implement an engaging, inclusive curriculum that reflects contemporary practices and diverse artistic traditions.
  • Teach Photography and Art to students across a range of abilities and year groups.
  • Support and mentor teaching staff within the department.
  • Organise exhibitions, workshops, and enrichment activities to showcase student work and engage the wider community.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, using data to inform teaching strategies.
Person Specification
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Fine Art, Photography, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience teaching Photography and/or Art at secondary or post-16 level.
  • Strong leadership skills and a commitment to collaborative working.
  • Excellent knowledge of traditional and digital media, including darkroom and editing software.
  • A passion for the arts and a desire to inspire the next generation of creatives.
