Lecturers - PMLD and SLD

  • Annual Salary: £32,455 to £45,260 (including London Weighting)
  • Location: West London
  • Job Type: Full-time (1 permanent post; 2 fixed term posts until 14th July 2026)

We are seeking to appoint full-time Lecturers to teach students with a range of needs such as Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Autism. This role involves planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing individual curriculum programmes, providing a holistic education that integrates the physical, academic, social, and emotional needs of individual students.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan and deliver educational programmes that cater specifically to students with PMLD, SLD, and Autism.
  • Develop and coordinate curriculum that integrates various aspects of student needs including physical, academic, social, and emotional components.
  • Assess and adapt learning materials to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Work collaboratively with other educational professionals to ensure a comprehensive support system for students.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practices and strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Preferably a Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector, or willingness to undertake teacher training.
  • Specialist SEN qualification is desirable.
  • Experience in providing teaching and learning support to students with ASD, SLD, and PMLD in a Further Education environment.
  • Good working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
