Sliding Head Machine Setter / Operator - Star / Citizen - Fanuc Controls - Nights - Up to £16ph + 30% Shift Allowance - Paid Breaks - Free Parking

BCS Connect are recruiting for an experienced Sliding Head Machine Setter / Operator to join a precision engineering company working with Star and Citizen machines on Fanuc controls. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled machinist to secure a long-term role on permanent night shifts with excellent rates of pay and benefits.

The Sliding Head Machine Setter / Operator role is offered on a permanent night shift, working Monday to Thursday, 9.00pm to 6.30am. Pay is up to £16.00 per hour as a base rate with an additional 30% night shift allowance, meaning excellent earning potential. Paid breaks and free onsite parking are also included.

As a Sliding Head Machine Setter / Operator you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC sliding head lathes to produce precision components to tight tolerances. Duties will include machine setup, tool changes, offsets, first-off inspection, reading and interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring consistent production quality throughout the shift. You will also be expected to carry out in-process quality checks, make minor adjustments to programmes and tooling, and ensure machines run efficiently with minimal downtime.

This role is best suited to candidates with previous experience working on Star or Citizen sliding head machines using Fanuc controls. Strong knowledge of CNC turning processes, cutting tools, and precision machining is required. A background in aerospace, automotive, medical, or general precision engineering will be advantageous.
