Currently, we have an exciting position to make a difference by supporting a secondary aged child with SEND and challenging behaviours across their timetable in a mainstream secondary school in Rochdale.

The school have created a welcoming, warm and inclusive environment for all staff and students. Teaching Assistants are made to feel like an important and valuable member of school community.

Key Responsibilities:

Mentor on a 1:1 basis to provide academic, social and emotional support
Liaise directly with the SENDCo & Assistant SENDCo to ensure behaviour plans are being successfully implemented
Navigate around challenges particularly with behaviour
Promote self-esteem and independence through consistent support
Build rapport with departments, pastoral officers and SLT to ensure the highest possible level of support

Occasionally, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
