BMS Commissioning Engineer

Mobile- Birmingham (West Midlands)

Salary up to £55,000

The Role

As a BMS Commissioning Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality BMS

installations from point of commissioning through to project handover.

This is a site-based role, primarily within the West Midlands, with occasional travel outside

the region (travel expenses paid).

Key Responsibilities

* Commission BMS systems in accordance with project specifications and design

* documentation

* Carry out point-to-point checks, functional testing, and system validation

* Ensure all commissioning activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high

* technical standard

* Complete commissioning documentation, test sheets, and handover packs

* Produce clear and accurate progress reports for the Project Manager

* Identify and resolve technical issues on site

* Maintain design integrity throughout the commissioning process

* Write, modify and optimise BMS software and graphics when required

* Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and apprentices

* Liaise professionally with clients, main contractors and other trades on site

* While the majority of BMS software is developed by our Technical Manager, there will be occasions where you will be required to write or adapt software independently.

Essential Requirements

* Minimum 5 years' experience within the BMS industry

* Proven experience commissioning BMS systems on live projects

* Experience with one or more of the following systems:

* Delta

* Trend

* Cylon ABB

* Tridium

* Distech

* Ability to write, modify and fault-find BMS software

* Experience modifying graphics

* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

* Good time management and ability to work independently

* CSCS Skill Card (or equivalent)

* Full UK driving licence

Desirable (but not essential)

* Experience mentoring junior engineers

* Experience working on large commercial or multi-site projects
