Interim Finance Director / Head of Finance
Plumstead Consulting is collaborating with a prestigious global client to appoint an Interim Finance Director or Head of Finance for an initial three-month period.This role is ideal for a portfolio Finance Director with availability for at least three/four days per week. The position is on-site and can be based in the North East of England or SW Scotland.

Key Responsibilities
- Financial Oversight: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, adherence to corporate policies, and compliance with local regulations, maintaining robust controls.
- Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including cost accounting and general ledger activities. Cash Flow & Banking: Manage cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, and tax.
- Statutory Reporting: Lead the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements, providing insightful financial analysis to support business operations and strategic decision-making.
- Budgeting &Forecasting: Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a finance team of six, providing support and fostering professional growth.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Qualifications: A qualified finance professional (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA) with a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: Over 10 years in a similar role, with at least 3-5 years in senior financial management within a multinational manufacturing company.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of tax, statutory reporting, and audit requirements is preferred.
- Proficiency in financial systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS) is essential.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team across multiple finance functions.
