SEMH Teaching Assistant 

Are you passionate about making a difference for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Sheffield that supports pupils aged 7–16 with SEMH as their primary need.

This setting offers a nurturing environment where pupils are grouped by stage rather than age, ensuring tailored support for individual needs. What We’re Looking For

• Experience: Previous work in an SEMH school or similar specialist setting is essential.
• Behaviour Management: Strong skills in managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive outcomes.
• Training: Ideally Team Teach trained (or willing to undertake training).
• Resilience & Empathy: Ability to build trust, de-escalate situations, and support pupils in regulating emotions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and multi-agency teams to deliver holistic support.
