A leading innovator in electronics and electrical engineering, based in Portishead, is seeking an Electronics Engineer (Research) to join their forward-thinking R&D team.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will drive independent research and development in electronics, working on multidisciplinary projects that push the boundaries of the company's intellectual property. This is a hands-on role, combining theoretical knowledge, technical expertise, and practical skills to deliver innovative solutions across electronics and electrical systems.

The role is open to graduates with excellent academic credentials as well as experienced engineers, offering a unique opportunity to develop a broad skill set and progress quickly within a dynamic R&D environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct independent R&D in electronics and electrical engineering, focusing on modelling, simulation, and analysis.

* Design, simulate, and test electronic circuits using tools such as LTSPICE, Matlab, and Altium.

* Develop prototypes, perform testing, and refine electronic systems and components.

* Apply programming skills (Python or C) for prototype control, simulation, and data analysis.

* Utilize laboratory skills including soldering, wiring, and test equipment operation.

* Contribute to innovative solutions, patent disclosures, and research publications.

* Collaborate across functions to integrate new technologies into commercial products.

* Engage with academic partners, conferences, and technical communities.

Desirable Skills & Knowledge:

* Reflectometry and RF technologies (TDR, STDR, SSTDR, FDR).

* Mechanical modelling and 3D printing for integrated R&D.

* Strong problem-solving, innovation, and continuous learning mindset.

The Ideal Candidate:

* Holds a degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline with strong academic performance.

* Enjoys a varied role with the opportunity to learn and develop across multiple areas of R&D.

* Works effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

* Demonstrates curiosity, creativity, and the drive to tackle complex engineering challenges.
