Our client is seeking a Hire Depot Transport Manager to lead operations at their busy Grays depot, which runs a fleet of mobile cranes daily. This is a key leadership role overseeing all aspects of depot operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery, safety compliance, and efficient fleet coordination.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage crane operators, slingers, supervisors, fitters, and support staff

* Plan workforce deployment, fleet utilisation, servicing, and maintenance

* Ensure all training, compliance, and safety standards are met and maintained

* Oversee depot administration, hire/return processes, and all associated documentation

* Monitor performance metrics and produce regular KPI and operational reports

* Liaise with customers and internal departments to deliver outstanding service

* Manage staffing, recruitment, performance, and absence

* Maintain high standards of depot presentation, health & safety, and vehicle upkeep

About You

* Proven leadership experience within Hire, Transport, Construction, or Logistics environments

* Knowledge of crane or heavy plant operations is highly advantageous

* Excellent planning, communication, and people management skills

* Confident IT user with a results-driven and safety-focused approach

* Strong customer service ethic and ability to perform under pressure
