Maintenance Technician

Job Type: Full-time contract
Location: Bury St. Edmunds.
Salary: Circa £45,000 DOE
Shift pattern: 12-hour shifts - 2 days/2 nights - 5 days off, 2 days/ 3 nights - 4 days off)
Industry: ManufacturingWe are currently seeking a maintenance technician. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all production equipment to ensure effective and safe operation, minimising equipment downtime. This position requires a combination of technical skills and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

as a maintenance technichian you will:

Perform corrective and preventive maintenance, focusing on electrical and mechanical maintenance.
Carry out repairs of production, processing, and utility-related equipment.
Support the installation of new equipment and ensure all repairs are well-documented.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and neat work area.
Complete all maintenance paperwork neatly and accurately.
Participate in the BOPEX (continuous improvement) program.
Comply with all procedures, regulations, and policies.
Immediately stop and report unsafe operations, adhering to mandatory PPE guidelines.
Offer flexibility in working hours to meet business needs, including on-call duties outside regular hours.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

High school diploma with a Technical Qualification or equivalent experience.
Strong electrical knowledge and skills.
Awareness of HACCP, food hygiene, and safety requirements.
Fluent in English.
Proficient computer skills.
Experience in repair and maintenance of machinery within a food or drink manufacturing environment.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
