OverviewA central government organisation is seeking an experienced Integration Architect to play a leading role in the development of a strategic integration architecture. This role will focus on defining and shaping reference, conceptual, and logical architectures to ensure that new digital services are integrated effectively into a complex and evolving environment.

The Integration Architect will work at a strategic level, engaging with multiple stakeholders, defining standards and policies, and ensuring alignment across organisations and digital service providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the development of the Integration Architecture (reference, conceptual, and logical).

  • Produce visualisations, models, and key graphics to support stakeholder understanding.

  • Identify integration elements and dependencies, including data, standards, access, monitoring, and error handling.

  • Review existing documentation and establish an "as-is" baseline.

  • Develop integration templates, policies, and rules to support consistency and compliance.

  • Coordinate and consult with stakeholders to align approaches, identify gaps, and resolve misalignments.

  • Track related developments and initiatives across programmes and forums.

  • Develop supporting artefacts such as integration catalogues, pattern libraries, and dependency registers.

  • Provide outputs that highlight risks, issues, and areas requiring remedial action.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven expertise in Integration Architecture, ideally in large-scale or complex environments.

  • Experience in engineering, logistics, or support domains within highly regulated sectors.

  • Strong understanding of digital services compliance and open standards.

  • Knowledge of secure networks, infrastructure, cloud environments, cyber operations, and identity management.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to influence at senior levels.

  • Strong consulting and advisory skills, comfortable facilitating across multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Current SC clearance is essential.

  • Experience of business change programmes is advantageous.
