About the Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for 2x Senior EC&I Engineers to support delivery across the One Team Framework on high-profile defence projects.

These contract roles offer the chance to work on technically complex, highly regulated programmes within a collaborative, multi-discipline environment. You'll play a key role in delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality EC&I design solutions across critical national infrastructure.

Roles Available

🔹 Senior EC&I Engineer (General Design)

Broad EC&I design across control & instrumentation systems
Ideal for well-rounded engineers with strong design and delivery experience🔹 Senior EC&I Engineer (Electrical Infrastructure Design)

Focus on electrical infrastructure including power distribution, substations, HV/LV systems
Candidates must have demonstrable experience in electrical infrastructure design

The Role

As a Senior EC&I Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering design studies and detailed engineering solutions, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, programme, and cost requirements.

Working closely with Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams, you'll take ownership of EC&I deliverables across the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Develop EC&I design concepts including SLDs, BCDs, cable schedules, and layouts
Produce detailed design documentation (FDS, SIDD, technical reports, FAT/SAT documentation)
Ensure compliance with relevant standards (including BS EN 61508 & 61511)
Support and manage subcontractors and design approvals
Contribute to commissioning activities and ensure system operability and safety
Design control systems and safety interlocks
Identify and manage technical and project risks

Technical Competencies

Strong understanding of EC&I systems within regulated environments (defence/nuclear preferred)
Ability to interpret and produce technical drawings (AutoCAD)
Experience working collaboratively across engineering disciplines

Person Specification

Qualifications:

Engineering Degree, HNC, or equivalent experienceExperience & Knowledge:

Proven EC&I design and commissioning experience
Electrical systems and control systems expertise
(Role 2 only) Strong background in electrical infrastructure design (HV/LV, substations, power distribution)Skills:

Strong technical documentation and reporting skills
Effective communicator in multi-discipline teams
Proficient in MS Office
