Chef Manager- East Cornwall

 Busy operation that is immersed in history, based in East Cornwall, just off the A30 are seeking to appoint a Chef Manager to join their team.

  • Join a successful, established busy catering business based within a historical site
  • Hours - 40 per week, includes early, evenings and weekends- 9AM-6PM approx shifts

  • Varied and interesting role- overseeing the day to day operation of the cafe and meetings

  • Responsible for the cafe and outdoor events/meetings sectors of the business

  • Salary up to £23,500pa DOE

 This will be a highly-varied role, managing multiple sites within the Kitchen and Front of House. Key areas of responsibility will include but not be      limited to…

  • Managing Front of House operations

  • Managing the kitchen, with emphasis on health, food safety and stock management

  • Deliver exceptional customer service

  • Manage staffing levels and rotas

  • To lead from the front, Working hands-on in the café, carvery and on occasions, functions and conferences - you will ensure that exceptional customer service is delivered by instilling a customer focussed attitude in the team.  

  • Also responsible for creating a vibrant, modern atmosphere and well-presented facilities, food and beverage offer, which will attract new customers and develop the café as a destination.  Be proactive at maximising sales and cross promotion at every opportunity

For this position we are seeking applications with strong previous experience in a similar position. We are ideally looking for a multi-skilled candidate with a strong understanding of both Front of House, Kitchen and Retail operations.

We are ideally looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and experience…

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Experience of using also, a stock management system

  • Good Numeracy and writing skills

  • General awareness of health and safety and security issues

  • Strong leadership ability

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate as a minimum

  • Licensee certificate

  • First aid

  • Have a Full understanding of HACCP, Food safety and allergen legislation

  • A 'can-do' attitude

  • Able to work in an incredibly busy environment whilst maintaining high standards
