Salary: £16.00 - £17.00 per hour

We are currently recruiting for a family-run, NICEIC-registered company with over 25 years' experience and a 40-strong in-house team covering plumbing, heating, electrical, building, drainage and more. We’re Gas Safe, OFTEC and Worcester Bosch Platinum accredited, offering customers a seamless “one-stop” service for domestic and commercial projects.

With a reputation for quality workmanship, professional service, and responsive emergency call-outs, we maintain long-standing relationships with homeowners, councils and housing associations. We are seeking an experienced qualified Electrician (18th Edition certified) to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out safe, compliant electrical installations, fault-finding, testing, and remedial works in domestic and commercial settings.
  • Replace consumer units, install new lighting, sockets, and internal circuits per the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Provide landlord electrical certification and periodic inspection reports.
  • Coordinate with in-house plumbing, heating, and building teams to support multi-trade projects.
  • Respond to 24-hour emergency call-outs on a rota basis.
  • Maintain tidy work areas, respecting clients’ homes and properties.
  • Complete accurate job documentation, test certification, and time-sheeting.
  • Uphold Hudson’s reputation for courteous, high-quality service.

Requirements

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2382).
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • ECS or NICEIC certification - Desirable
  • Experience working on landlord certification.
  • Familiarity with integrated multi-trade environments.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Proven experience in both domestic and commercial electrical work.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and collaboratively with other trades.

Working Hours

  • Standard hours to be worked are 40hrs per week. Between the hours of 7.30am – 5.00pm, minus 30 mins for lunch.
  • You are expected to help with cover which includes some Saturdays, rate for Saturdays is one and half times normal rate of pay.
  • “Call Out Rota” available for after hours and weekends. There will be an additional payment of £80 per week when you are on the “Call Out Rota” plus weekdays time and half of your current rate of pay door to door after 5pm – 6.00am plus weekends from Friday 5pm to Monday morning 6.00am time and half of your current rate of pay door to door.
