A welcoming secondary special school in Hackney is seeking a Food Technology Technician, and are happy to consider a Teaching Assistant who is strong in supporting teaching and learning, and particularly someone who has an interest in food technology.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) while contributing to practical food technology lessons in a supportive school environment.
The Role
Preparing ingredients, equipment and resources for lessons
Supporting teaching and learning during practical sessions
Helping students access food technology activities safely
Maintaining high standards of hygiene and health & safety
Assisting with organisation of the food technology area
Working closely with teaching staff to support student progress
About You
Experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar is desirable
A positive, patient and nurturing approach to working with young people
Interest in food technology and food preparation - and super organised with it
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to support students with additional learning needs
Food hygiene knowledge is an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.
