Lecturer in Sport and Public Services

Reed FE are working with a College in Stoke and are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Sport and Public Services. This role involves planning, designing, and delivering study programmes across Levels 1 to 3, ensuring an excellent learning experience for a diverse group of learners. The successful candidate will also act as a personal tutor, supporting recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression of learners.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Coordinate, design, deliver, and develop programmes of study up to Level 3 for groups of learners, including travel to partner sites such as Port Vale Football Club.
- Collaborate with the Head of Learning and other lecturers to develop best practices in learning, teaching, and assessment, ensuring standardisation and continuity.
- Assess learners according to established guidelines and provide a positive learning experience.
- Develop full-time programmes and design, monitor, and share educational resources.
- Act as a personal tutor, supporting Individual Learning Plans and coordinating tutorial support.
- Participate in parent evenings, open events, enrolment, and interviewing applicants.
- Stay updated with curriculum initiatives and engage proactively with the College’s CPD programme.
- Contribute to internal and external quality assurance procedures and thorough evaluative programme reviews.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of learner performance and attendance.
- Attend and contribute to relevant meetings within the School and the college.
- Implement the college’s mathematics and English code and maintain standards of learner behaviour and attendance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience in delivering educational programmes in Sport and Public Services.
- Ability to travel to partner sites for programme delivery.
- Strong commitment to professional development and staying updated with educational trends.
- Excellent communication skills across a wide range of audiences.
- Experience in managing documentation and compliance with educational standards and policies.
