The work you will be doing

Strategy and Delivery

Work closely with the Internal Communications Manager to support the development and delivery of the internal communications strategy across all channels to inform and engage employees.

  • Develop and implement effective internal multi-channel campaigns and activities, covering change programmes and business as usual milestones, as well as topics such as diversity and inclusion and CSR/ESG.
  • Manage and evolve the firm’s SharePoint intranet as the primary hub for internal communications, ensuring content is well-structured, up to date and aligned with business priorities.
  • Write, design and distribute internal newsletters, sourcing and drafting stories.
  • Draft and create compelling copy (intranet articles, announcements, emails, presentations, blogs, video scripts and digital signage) consistent with communication objectives.
  • Plan, record and edit internal video content to support engagement and storytelling, including leadership messages, campaign videos and event highlights. This includes scripting, filming, basic lighting and sound, editing, and optimising content for different internal platforms and audiences.
  • Travel to other offices as required to support the delivery of in-person events, filming, and on-the-ground communications activity.
  • Manage the annual internal content calendar, including key business initiatives and seasonal campaigns.

Measurement and feedback

  • Monitor and track open/read metrics via monthly intranet reports.
  • Report on qualitative feedback received through colleague surveys and anonymous feedback tool.
  • Identify new opportunities for two-way communications within the firm.

Brand implementation

  • Work closely with the Internal Communications Manager to ensure all our internal communications are consistent in tone of voice and represent Birketts as a high quality law firm with regional, national and international expertise.
  • Build a strong brand advocacy among employees that promotes our values, mission and ambition of ‘Next Level Law’.

What we are looking for

  • English Language graduate desirable.
  • Related experience in Internal Communications / Marketing essential.
  • Sound copywriting skills and editorial skills.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivery of multiple work streams/ management of competing priorities.
  • IT Literate (Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint and Canva desirable.

Hybrid Working

Birketts is a flexible business which has embraced a hybrid working model where our colleagues enjoy a mix of home and office working. This role attracts a split of 60% office days and 40% working from home days per week.
