Superior Recruitment Group are proud to be support one of our fantastic clients in their search to bring on an experienced Senior Medical Instructor in Clydebank. The successful applicant will be offering of medical based courses, across Maritime, Oil and Gas and Renewables. Working directly with the Team Lead, the Senior Medical Instructor will take responsibilities of course delivery and co-ordination of the delivery of all medical courses, and be the focal point for gaining/maintaining new and existing approvals.

Key Responsibilities
• Serve as a resource and subject matter expert (medical) for the development and analysis of existing and developmental training materials, medical response processes, and implement improvement opportunities.
• Delivering to and assessing learners against industry approved courses (OPITO, STCW, GWO, HSE & Bespoke).
• Co-ordinate internal and external resources (when required) to deliver medical courses.
• Support the operational requirements of the Team Lead.
• Maintain training locations with respect to safety and tidiness, including classroom & practical working areas.
• Ensuring stock levels of consumable items are accounted for, and new orders are processed in a timely manner. This includes periodic stock checks of first aid provisions across all sites.
• Carryout periodic assessments and detailed timelines of CTS staff responses during drills and exercises. This will also include facilitating periodic first aid training with all staff 'designated first aiders'.
• Work in a mentoring capacity with other instructors within the CTS business, to drive increased proficiency within the team and upskill in new areas.
• Monitor course delivery, progress, and quality of services.
• Work in compliance with and participate in the review/audit of company Quality Management Systems as well as the Safety Management System (SMS).
• Maintain a high level of CPD across all areas of discipline.
• Embrace the company's core values and culture.
• You may be asked to carry out other duties, not associated with your role, from time to time to support the wider CTS and NMG business.

Skills & Experience
• Current medical registration with the GMC or equivalent, NMC current registration to practise as an RGN or equivalent, a paramedic with current registration with the Health Professionals Council or equivalent.
• A knowledge of instructional techniques, training methods and training practice at least to the level of IMO Training for Instructors. Understanding of assessment methods and practice (A1 Assessor cert)
• Practical Instructional and assessment experience
• Contextual Awareness - be familiar with use and operation of medical stores required onboard. Awareness of shipboard / oil and gas platform operational environment and radio medical advice.
• Hold ideally FREC 4 or equivalent certification. FREC 3 will be considered.
• Able to demonstrate competencies in enhanced first aid/pre-hospital emergency care through experience or internal staff development
• Able to provide documented evidence of continual professional development (in accordance with national guidelines/professional requirements)
• Experienced in medical industry with professional qualification
• A1 Assessor or equivalent.
• 5+ years' experience in nursing or similar role in the medical profession
• 3+ years' experience in delivery of medical courses
• Experience in course material creation and external audit experience (MCA/OPITO/GWO would be beneficial).
• Able and willing to work to flexible schedules/ shifts and commit the time required to get the job done.
• Knowledge of industry approved Medical & First Aid practices
• Knowledge of equipment used for Medical & First Aid emergencies.
• Gaining and maintaining approvals.
• Mentoring staff.
• Using a Computer & Microsoft Office
