About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Agricultural Engineering Lecturer to join a Further Education college on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an industry professional or qualified lecturer to deliver engaging, practical teaching to students preparing for careers within land-based engineering and agricultural technology.

You will be delivering a mix of theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical sessions, supporting learners to develop the technical skills required by modern agricultural and machinery-based industries.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality teaching in Agricultural Engineering / Land-Based Engineering programmes.

*

Teach topics such as:

*

Agricultural machinery maintenance & diagnostics

*

Hydraulics, engines and mechanical systems

*

Fabrication and workshop practices

*

Health & Safety within land-based industries

*

Emerging agricultural technologies

*

Prepare lesson materials, schemes of work and assessments.

*

Support students to achieve qualifications and industry-ready skills.

*

Maintain workshop standards in line with health & safety regulations.

*

Track learner progress and provide feedback in line with college expectations.

Requirements

*

Relevant qualification in Agricultural Engineering, Land-Based Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar.

*

Teaching qualification (PGCE / Cert Ed) desirable - industry professionals welcome to apply.

*

Recent industry experience within agricultural machinery, plant, or land-based engineering.

*

Experience teaching in FE or training environments preferred.

*

Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service - mandatory.

*

Strong practical workshop knowledge and ability to engage learners aged 16+.
