We are currently recruiting for General Operatives on behalf of a busy and well-established client based in Newport. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive and growing team in a hands-on role essential to the smooth running of the site.
Key Responsibilities:- Support daily plant operations including inspection, cleaning, and general housekeeping
- Perform sweeping, shovelling, and other manual tasks to maintain site cleanliness
- Operate mobile plant equipment when required (training may be provided)
- Assist with banksman duties as needed
- Monitor production and ensure materials meet required specifications
- Report breakdowns or faults promptly to minimise downtime
- Follow all site safety procedures, including correct use of PPE and adherence to isolation procedures
- Comply with all company policies relating to Health & Safety, Environment, and Conduct
Ideal Candidate:- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
- Self-motivated, reliable, and adaptable
- Safety-conscious with a positive attitude
- Previous experience in a similar industrial or plant environment is an advantage, but not essential
