Spencer Clarke Group are searching for a Senior Social Worker to work within the children's services, working with the clients most vulnerable children, young people and families.

Within this role you will be required to create clear, child-focused plans that address risk and meet identified needs, ensuring input from families and partner agencies. Maintain high-quality, jargon-free records and reports with clear analysis and rationale. Regularly review progress, adapt plans as needed, and lead on safeguarding investigations where required. Use legal frameworks and evidence-based practice to guide sound decision-making.

What you will do:

  • Build strong, sensitive relationships with children, families, and professionals. Actively listen and support their full involvement in assessments, planning, and reviews.
  • Develop strong, supportive relationships to drive positive change-even in challenging situations. Confidently manage conflict and resistance with persistence and professionalism.
  • Support healthy child development and stay alert to signs of harm or developmental concerns.
  • Conduct thorough, ongoing assessments focused on risk and parental capacity for change, ensuring the child's voice and input from families and partners are central.

What we're looking for:

  • Degree in social work, or the equivalent social work qualification, for example, Graduate Diploma in Social Work (PDDipSW) certificate or qualification in Social Work (CQSW), Diploma in Social Work (DipSW), certificate in Social Services is essential.
  • Registered with Social Work England is
  • Experience in building relationships with children, young people and families, along with the production of focused and written case nots and reports, which are supported by clear analysis.
  • Ability to organise own workload.
  • Knowledge of an array of theories related to social work which are relevant to the role.
  • Knowledge of the main social care services and resources provided by the statutory, voluntary independent sector.
