Machine Manufacturing Technician

Technique Recruitment Solutions are working alongside a global machinery and product manufacturer who have a new opportunity for a Machine Technician to join their manufacturing team. The company offer an excellent benefits package and positive working environment. This will be working on a day shift Monday to Friday (Apply online only)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Work as part of a flexible team using approved methods of assembly and testing to produce safe quality products
• Ensure safe working practices are adhered to and maintained at all times
• Process orders in line with Master Production Schedule/Work to List
• Complete sub-assembly and spares work orders as per requested date
• Maintain quality standards and associated reporting procedures
• Be proactive in the development of existing and new products and quality standards
• Maintain accurate records as specified by the Manufacturing Manager
• Provide assistance and support to other departments and personnel as required
• Liaise daily with Manufacturing Manager, discussing all relevant issues including drawing changes, BOM updates and manufacturing improvements.
• Collective responsibility for tooling and work methods within the department
• Maintain good order of the company property and general housekeeping
• Complete daily, weekly, monthly safety checks as required
• To abide by all statutory requirements including those relating to COSHH and health and safety.
• To adhere to and promote all current company policies and procedures in place
• Work within the department, or as part of cross functional teams to implement continuous improvement working towards World Class Manufacturing.
• To undertake any other reasonable task as directed by the Management team.
• Manage time productively and Efficiently

Key Performance Indicators
• On time work order completion
• Health and Safety checks and reporting
• Labour efficiency & productivity
• Utilisation of Mango and solid works

Key Accountabilities
• Actively participate in the assembly, manufacture and test of Electrical and Mechanical products to agreed quality standards using approved documented methods and procedures
• Working to production schedules and targets to ensure on time deliveries are achieved
• Accurately assemble and test all products, electrical, mechanical, or electro/mechanical as required
• Adherence to the Machine Production Department build and works order schedules or requests by the Manufacturing Manager
• Identifying, recording and resolving all assembly related issues or equipment malfunctions

Qualifications
• NVQ Level2 in a relevant discipline. Basic PC knowledge, Windows, Microsoft Office, etc
• Maths, literacy and ability to read a basic engineering drawing

Experience
• Understanding of use of basic hand tools and assembly techniques
• Proven experience in a mechanical/electrical sub-assembly environment

Skills
• Basic maths and reasoning ability. Able to accurately understand, follow build procedures, schematics and engineering drawings.
• Ability to fault find and suggest improvements to current builds, procedures and communicate these to the team
• Some exposure to mentoring/coaching and assisting other team members with training and improving their own skills base
