Role Overview

We are seeking an organised and proactive Transport Planner to join our team in Alton. This dynamic role involves working closely with the Transport Team to ensure all logistics operations are executed efficiently, on time, and in full. You will be responsible for daily route planning, resolving challenges, and acting as a key point of contact for drivers and internal teams, upholding Conquip's high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and optimise daily transport routes to ensure efficient deliveries and collections
Serve as the first point of contact for drivers, providing ongoing support throughout the day
Coordinate logistics to guarantee all jobs are completed on schedule and in full
Schedule deliveries and collections using internal transport management systems
Book jobs onto third-party platforms as required
Manage and resolve day-to-day transport issues and delays promptly
Raise purchase orders for subcontractors accurately and timely
Verify invoices against completed jobs to ensure accuracy
Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding any job deviations or delays
Maintain precise records and update communication systems such as Salesforce
Collaborate closely with the Transport Team and Compliance Manager to maintain operational excellence

Person Specification

Essential Skills

Strong planning and organisational capabilities
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Good knowledge of UK geography
Familiarity with driver hours and Working Time Directive (WTD) is desirable
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
