GSL Education are looking for a committed and empathetic Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant to work within a primary school environment in Chesterfield area. This role is ideal for someone who can build strong relationships with children and support their academic, emotional, and behavioural development. As a Primary SEMH TA, you will provide tailored emotional and behavioural support to help pupils thrive in a nurturing classroom environment.

 Responsibilities as a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEMH needs in a school setting.
Implement strategies to promote emotional regulation, self-esteem, and classroom engagement.
Assist the class teacher in managing behaviour and adapting lesson content.
Encourage positive social interactions and help pupils develop coping skills.
Travel between settings or support off-site interventions when required.
Requirements for Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Previous experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs, ideally in a school setting.
A full UK driving licence with business insurance is essential.
A nurturing, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour support.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
A full CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps explained.
