I'm supporting a leading household brand in their search for a Senior Procurement professional with extensive Logistics category experience, owning a £500m spend focusing on warehousing and transport. This is an incredibly pivotal role with clear long term opportunities and a high degree of flexibility and autonomy. This is paying up to £100,000 + Car allowance + bonus + benefits.
Part of this transformation involves a program of removing £500m from its cost base over 3 years, as a Procurement team we are a key part of that process, and we are looking for people with experience of complex negotiations to deliver large scale cost reduction at pace.
The Logistics area is vital to the success and as such any candidate will have detailed knowledge of warehousing, transport and supply chain management marketplace and will be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering commercial solutions to senior stakeholders.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Senior Commercial management of warehousing, transport and supply chain management across the group.
Lead large scale 3rd party logistics outsourcing programmes/projects and manage resource in the team to develop RFPs, contract and execute commercial deals.
An expert understanding of 3rd party warehousing and transport contract terms and how to negotiate the best contracts within the logistics industry.
Build meaningful and close relationships and advise business leaders on commercial strategy and contractual solutions, including SLA's and contractual remedies.
Be a procurement business partner to operations - able to challenge, advise and support stakeholders and suppliers to deliver more for our customers.
Drive commercial change within the business to deliver value and ensuring there is always a balance between cost and service.
Identification of continuous improvement opportunities and driving the operational teams to improve and change.
Understand the international imports supplier market from in ocean freight and airfreight and international road freight.
Use your expert category knowledge, innovation and opportunity to deliver commercial advantage to the organisation.
Developing highly value add sourcing and commercial solutions to the organisation.
Development of cross logistics procurement strategy within the logistics procurement team.
Champions, supports and delivers Procurement strategy across organisation.
Manages Procurement relationship with senior stakeholders in the organisation.
Understanding best practice Procurement strategy and process through appropriate benchmarking.
Ensure business risk and social responsibility is considered and highlighted d in all procurement decisions.
Meet agreed performance objectives and ways of working; identify and progress areas for personal development.
Your skills and experience will include:
Support the Initiation Delivery of £500m cost out of the bottom line in accordance with the Cost Transformation Strategy.
Instrumental in building and defining of the Procurement vision and strategy.
Building lasting and strong stakeholder relationships within the international imports and international logistics teams.
Delivery of complex commercial negotiations within the logistics.
Has led large scale third party logistics outsourcing programmes (upwards of £300m) involving multiple 3PLs and a large stakeholder map.
Detailed Procurement experience gathered in warehousing, transport and supply chain management.
Specific expertise/experience in building relationships and driving value from warehousing, transport and supply chain management.
Expert category knowledge across international logistics with a particular focus on retail or FMCG.
Strong people engagement and influencing skills at all levels in an organisation - a candidate must be able to influence from 'shop floor' to board level.
Proven record across complex large-scale negotiations covering commercial, service levels, gainshares, fuel mechanics which take into account specific market dynamics of 3rd party logistics providers.
Strong communication, influencing and networking skills across senior business leaders.
Expertise in commercial models and legal contracts including SLA's/remedies across the logistics category.
Track record of implementing and delivering Supplier Relationship Management process across a business.
