We are looking for special needs support staff to work in a special educational needs (SEN) primary school in Richmond. The role is Monday to Friday from 8:30 - 4:00 daily and will involve supporting children 1:1, delivering and assisting with learning activities, supporting with therapies, managing challenging behaviours and providing overall care.

The school is based local to Hampton and has two departments for children with special needs. The successful applicant will be based in their primary department working with in a small class of 8 primary aged pupils. All pupils have a diagnosis of a special educational need.

Children in class have a range of additional needs with some being non-verbal, with mobility difficulties and having sensory impairments. Pupils in class will need support with personal care, hygiene and feeding.

Having experience working in special needs schools, hospitals or centres will be highly beneficial due to the needs in this class.

  • SEN schools, mainstream primary schools, nurseries, Hospitals and/or SEN centres
  • Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties, Physical Disabilities and/or sensory needs
  • Carer and/or Support Worker for children
  • PECS, Makaton, Sensory play, Sensory learning and/or speech therapy
  • Personal Care, feeding and/or medical support
