Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum

Our client, located in the Middlesbrough area, is seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager with proven experience in Construction, Civil or Petrochemical Engineering. This is a key leadership role, responsible for driving the HSE strategy, ensuring compliance, and fostering a strong safety culture across all operational areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s HSE strategy, policies, and management systems
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Provide expert HSE advice and guidance to project teams and operational staff
  • Lead investigations into incidents and near-misses, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Deliver HSE training, inductions, and toolbox talks to promote awareness and engagement across all levels
  • Maintain and update all HSE documentation, procedures, and reports
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including clients, regulatory authorities, and auditors
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and best practice across the organisation

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an HSE management role within construction, civil, or petrochemical engineering
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Practical experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 management systems
  • Strong understanding of current UK HSE legislation and industry best practice
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Clean driving licence and access to vehicle required for site visits

Working Hours: Monday – Friday (Hours to be discussed)
