GBR Recruitment Ltd, are working exclusively with a leading Steel Construction company who deliver bespoke full turn key solutions to various end using clients, recruiting for an experienced or more junior Quantity Surveyor (Steels & Civils Construction) to join their QS / Estimating team in Leicestershire, supporting Major Enterprises locally & Nationally.

The client is open to taking Construction sector experienced applications from those with a Quantity Surveying background, as well as taking applications from those with transferable skills such as costing, tender bids, financial, project work experience but who are working within a different role, but within the Built Environment sector, so if you fancy a role change but have the basics to be a success in a QS role, then apply today!

QS Duties:

* Tender preparation & submission for new contracts

* Project build Cost analysis & accurate Pricing of Works required

* Carrying out QS duties for works across; civils, groundwork, mechanical, electrical, steelwork & other trade services / works.

* Review and submission of any variations

* Interim accounts and final account completion / submissions

* Review of all site work costs supporting the build & wider project teams

* Client liaison & consultation (main contractors / end customer).

* Commercial activities, to support accurate applications achieving set margins & price points.

* Estimations / Mapping out of works.

* Contract paperwork completion support.

Desirable QS Attributes:

* Ideally with a Construction / Civils or Engineering Qualification, such as a BSc, MSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or similar profession with transferable skills (Estimating, Project Management, Costings, Financial, Accounting, Supply Chain, Procurement etc.).

* Previous exposure across several of the following: civils, groundwork's, electrical, mechanical and steelwork or any other trades.

* Construction site experience (preferable, but not essential).

* Highly Numerate & literate, with strong Excel skills.

* Will consider someone from a non QS background, but with transferable skills who is up for a slight career change.

* CSCS Card (useful, not essential).

* Knowledge of Tenders, Bids, Contracts & SLA's.
