Job Title: Maintenance Operative

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: 3 weeks initially- possibility of extension

Hours: Monday- Friday (9am-5pm)

Pay Rate: £15.77 to £18.40 per hour

Location: Edinburgh (EH8)

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out maintenance inspections and perform necessary repairs on building systems, following direction from the Facilities Manager.
Duties include minor plastering, painting, screwing in hinges, fixing leaking taps.
Responsible for inspecting rooms to identify and report visible maintenance issues.
Ensure all maintenance work is completed to a high standard and in line with safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Assist in other general facilities duties such as moving equipment, replacing light bulbs, or fixing furniture.

Key Skills:

Background in a relevant trade (e.g., electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC).

Must be proactive and fit and able to perform tasks.
Good problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
Ability to work independently and take instruction.
Basic knowledge of building safety and compliance standards.
